About Me

Hi, I’m Emir, and welcome to my personal website!

I am a first-year PhD student. My work started on October 1, 2025, at the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB), where I am part of the Family and Fertility research area. Specifically, I am working on a DFG-funded research project called “Making Benefits Work. Characteristics and Effects of In-Work Benefits in Different Welfare State Contexts“, together with Dr. Jan Brülle. You can read more about the project here.

I hold a master’s degree in sociology from the Goethe University Frankfurt, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, also from the Goethe University Frankfurt. While pursuing my master’s degree, I worked as a research assistant in the ERC-funded research project POLAR.

On a personal note, I enjoy listening to music (especially hip-hop), going to concerts, supporting Arsenal F.C., and taking an interest in fashion.
